We are currently seeking an experienced administration coordinator to deliver the Domestic Animals Competition at the 2020 Sydney Royal Easter Show.


About the Role…

In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and administration of the Domestic Animals Competition, which includes a diverse portfolio such as Aviary Birds, Cats, Cavies, Dogs, Rats & Mice, Rabbits and Frogs & Reptiles.


This role does not require you to be an expert in any of the competition portfolios; however the successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of each portfolio. In addition, you will be under the guidance of industry experts who will equip you with the necessary knowledge to execute each competition successfully.


You will be responsible for a range of services including, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and manage the administration of all competitions
  • Prepare, develop and execute competition schedules
  • Coordinate and manage various events specific to Domestic Animals
  • Manage a small team of casual employees in the lead up to and during the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within relevant industries
  • Manage the department’s budget


About you…

To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in office administration or similar role
  • Previous experience in event coordination and/or project management
  • Demonstrated experience planning activities and projects to a tight deadline
  • Previous experience working to and managing budgets
  • Ability to manage and address clients (internal and external) concerns in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Experience solving complex problems
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Proven history of being punctual & reliable
  • Have superior customer service skills
  • Have excellent communication & interpersonal skills,
  • Be energetic and committed
  • Have an outstanding work ethic and impeccable grooming
  • Be able to work weekdays, weekends and late nights as required
  • Have a positive “can do” attitude
  • Be legally entitled to live & work in Australia.
  • Be willing to undertake a police clearance check if required

The RAS has a team of over 130 full-time staff – and an indispensable pool of casual staff - who work on the Easter Show, events at the Sydney Showground and other activities and events.
