Entry-level sales support role to become an integral part of the Sydney Showground venue sales team.
About the Role:
This rare entry-level position will provide the successful applicant the opportunity to become an integral part of the Sydney Showground’s sales team.
This role is responsible for supporting the Business Development team, increasing the profile of the venue, and coordination of key sales related projects. This team contributes to the ongoing profitability of the venue by delivering tangible financial results coupled with strong client and stakeholder relationships.
With Sydney Showground’s business increasing by over 20% in the last 3 years, and a number of exciting developments in the pipeline, this position will provide hands-on experience in the events industry as well as terrific personal and professional development opportunities.
You will become part of a highly successful and respected team within the events industry responsible for delivering some of Australia’s largest and most prestigious events.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have an excellent ‘can-do’ attitude, a hunger & passion to learn new skills and a winning mentality.
This role will provide unparalleled development opportunities across best practices in sales and event management. You will be open to developing your customer-centric ethos, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong business acumen.
Sydney Showground recently staged world-class events including the Invictus Games, HSBC Rugby 7’s, X Games Sydney, RnB Fridays Live, Sydney Royal Easter Show as well as numerous national and international corporate events and tradeshows. The venue is also home to the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL team and Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League.

Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) has been an influential force in the direction and development of Australian agriculture through competitions, education and events since its foundation in 1822. The RAS is a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting agricultural development and rural communities in Australia.
It manages the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Sydney Royal competitions, the RAS Foundation, Australasian Animal Registry and the Sydney Showground. The RAS has a team of over 140 full-time staff – and an indispensable pool of casual staff - who work on the Easter Show, events at the Sydney Showground and other activities and events.
