About The Role…

The purpose of this position is to Safely perform event operations for the Flower & Garden section at the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is the largest annual ticketed event staged in the Southern Hemisphere and we are currently looking for an Assistant Hall Supervisor to join our Flower & Garden Competitions & Events team for the 2025 Show.

You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of duties including, but not limited to:

• Assist with the bump-in of exhibits for the Flower & Garden section including, TAFE displays etc.
• Ensure all Exhibitors set-up their display in the correct space etc.
• Assist with the installation of displays within the sections.
• Thoroughly check the Pumpkin Display daily to ensure nothing has started to rot and remove any exhibits that have turned. (Check with Hall Supervisor before disposing of any pumpkins in case the Exhibitor has requested the seeds from the pumpkin or any embellishments to be returned to the Exhibitor).
• Set up & pull down of tables for Judging Competitions (Grain, Fruit & Vegetable and Horticulture).
• Respond to requests from Council and staff where possible.
• Deliver flower orders when required.
• Assist with Award Presentations on the stage on each day of judging.
• Assist with the Preparation and pack down of daily workshops for children and Adults
• Assist with the delivery of workshops
• Participate in and obey emergency and evacuation guidelines and inspect the Pavilion daily and conduct a safety inspection and record in the daily inspection record book.
• Water plants used on the stage when required.
• General labouring.
• Assist with cleaning when required.
• General day-to-day running of the Flower & Garden Pavilion.

This role is a contract role commencing 8 April 2025 and concluding 24 April 2025, and will require you to work the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show (11 April to 22 April 2025).

A valid Working With Children Check is also required for this role.

About You…

• Previous experience working in events
• Previous experience in customer service
• Appreciation of Horticulture and/or Floristry
• Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety requirements
• Appreciation and understanding of a diverse range of events and client needs
• Ability to acquire knowledge quickly and accurately
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
