About the Role… The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW is currently looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Event Manager to join the Wine, Dairy & Fine Food team. This role involves coordinating and managing the Sydney Royal Dairy Produce Show, Sydney Royal Talk & Taste and various Award Functions throughout the year. You will work closely with Committees, Chair of Judges, and Industry Advisors to ensure the successful planning and execution of these prestigious events. Key responsibilities within this role include but are not limited to the following: - Coordinate the Sydney Royal Dairy Produce Show, Sydney Royal Talk & Taste and Award Functions.
- Liaise with Committees, Chair of Judges, and Industry Advisors regarding the schedule, competition regulations, logistics, and on-site delivery of the events.
- Provide support to the Wine, Dairy & Fine Food team and manage the administration of Committee meetings, including preparing meeting papers, taking minutes, effective communication, and delivering on tasks arising from meetings.
- Prepare and manage large income and expenditure budgets for the events in consultation with management and the Committee, ensuring that activities are closely monitored and carried out within budget.
- Liaise with Marketing & PR regarding communication plans, media releases, press coverage of the judging, and marketing of associated events.
- Research and monitor industry developments concerning the relevant industries, as they relate to the Schedule and Regulations for the Sydney Royal Shows.
- Manage, develop, and update content for the Sydney Royal website, as well as reviewing the format to ensure ease-of-use and relevance for users.
About you… This role is fun and rewarding but requires great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills complemented by a strong interest and appreciation for the wine, dairy, and fine food industries. To be successful in this role, you should possess: - Tertiary qualifications and an interest in the wine and food industries (preferred but not essential).
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in administration or event planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative and demonstrate creativity in creating opportunities to benefit the section.
- Sound planning, problem-solving, and coordinating skills.
- Customer service and negotiation skills.
- Project and budget experience desirable.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and patience.
- Ability to build and maintain good relationships across various organizational levels.
- Positive “can do” attitude.
- Team player mentality.
