We are seeking qualified Chefs for large scale functions and events staged at Sydney Showground
About the Role…
We are currently seeking qualified and creative Chefs to join our casual BOH team for corporate and large scale functions & events including the 2020 Sydney Royal Easter Show (3 April - 14 April). Some of these exciting events are tailored around our clientele, and include corporate gala dinners for 3000 guests, conferences, stadium corporate suites & functions.
Availability for certain busy periods or events will be an expectation of your employment and you will be expected to work weekdays, weekends and late nights according to roster.
Successful applicants will be hospitality superstars, and will have the flexibility and availability to work to a 7 day rotating event based roster as well as:
- A proven history of being punctual & reliable
- Have superior customer service skills
- Practice good kitchen hygiene standards in line with the Food Safety Plan.
- Maintain set food standards, in both quality and presentation from raw products to finished products.
- Have excellent communication & interpersonal skills,
- Be energetic and committed to a fast paced environment
- Have an outstanding work ethic and impeccable grooming
- Be able to work weekdays, weekends and late nights
- Have a positive “can do” attitude
- Be legally entitled to live & work in Australia.
- Be willing to undertake a police clearance check if required
Sydney Showground recently staged world-class events including RNB Fridays Live, Festival X, Epik, the Invictus Games, HSBC Rugby 7’s, X Games Sydney, Sydney Royal Easter Show as well as numerous national and international corporate events and tradeshows. We cannot wait to host the T20 World Cup Women's opening match in our stadium which will be televised to billions of cricket enthusiasts. Our venue is also home to the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL team and Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League.
Sydney Showground is the venue and event management business of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting excellence in agriculture.
Sydney Showground was established in 1998 as a purpose-built home for major events as part of the NSW Government's multi-million dollar development for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Today it is a world-class venue, delivering close to 150 national and international events each year, including music festivals, sporting events, exhibitions, trade shows, and the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the flagship event of the RAS and the nation's largest annual ticketed event.
