The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is seeking a strategic and highly organised Head of Event Delivery to lead the integrated planning, coordination and operational execution of the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

This role is central to the success of the Show, acting as the key coordination point across the organisation to ensure alignment of timelines, stakeholders, logistics and delivery outcomes across the full event lifecycle, from planning and design through to build, live operations and bump-out.

You will work closely with internal departments, contractors, government agencies and service partners to deliver a seamless, safe and high-quality experience for visitors, exhibitors and stakeholders, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the event.

Beyond delivery, you will contribute to future event development, precinct planning and long-term strategic initiatives to support the continued evolution of the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

About you…

You are an experienced event operations leader with a strong track record delivering large-scale, complex events in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment. You are highly organised, solutions-focused and thrive on coordinating multiple moving parts to deliver exceptional outcomes.

• Proven experience (7+ years) in major event delivery, operations or a related field, managing complex, multi-stakeholder events
• Strong operational planning capability, with the ability to manage timelines, dependencies and competing priorities across the full event lifecycle
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating internal and external stakeholders
• Highly developed communication, negotiation and relationship management skills 
  Experience managing contractors, suppliers and service providers in a large-scale event environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
• Experience developing operational procedures, systems and continuous improvement initiatives
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety principles in an event or operational context

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is seeking a capable and proactive Manager, Heritage Centre to lead the activities and administration of the RAS Archives, Library and Museum and manage the staff within the Heritage team.

Most well‑known for the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show, the RAS also delivers a wide range of educational, cultural and community programs across NSW.

In this role you will provide leadership and direction for the Heritage Centre, delivering the Heritage strategy and ensuring strong collection management practices are in place. You will oversee archival and collection governance (including appraisal, retention, access, storage and conservation programs), manage collection growth through acquisition and donor engagement, and establish policies, procedures, planning and budgeting to support the Heritage Centre’s long‑term goals.

You will also lead the planning and delivery of exhibitions and displays, work closely with internal stakeholders and committees, and liaise externally with donors, researchers, consultants and supporters to support RAS heritage initiatives.

About you…

You are an organised and consultative leader with strong attention to detail and documentation standards, and you bring proven experience in archives/collections management and/or heritage operations. You are confident working with primary sources, implementing sound systems and processes, and providing high‑quality service to internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Eligibility for professional membership to the Australian Society of Archivists (highly regarded).
• Qualifications in History, Cultural Studies or similar (highly regarded).

About the Role

Level up your apprenticeship at the award-winning Sydney Showground. This role offers the opportunity to work in one of Australia’s premier major event venues, delivering exceptional culinary experiences for a wide range of events including conferences, gala dinners, exhibitions, major sport and music events, and the iconic Sydney Royal Easter Show.

We’re seeking a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Chef to join our award-winning kitchen brigade. You’ll rotate through multiple outlets (banquets, production, high end corporate and retail cafes), build service speed and consistency, and complete your Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with strong mentorship and real event experience.

Roster: 5 days across 7 with early/late/weekend shifts. Extra hours may be required during major events.

Key Responsibilities

• Prep, cook and present dishes to spec across larder, grill, sauce, pastry and banquets
• Support large-scale functions and high-volume retail during live events
• Maintain strict food safety/HACCP standards, temperature logs and allergen controls
• Assist with receivals, stock rotation, labelling and section mise en place
• Clean as you go; maintain equipment and BOH areas to venue hygiene standards
• Contribute to menu trials, seasonal changeovers and event-specific menus
• Keep apprentice logbook/assessments current; attend all required TAFE/RTO training

About You

• Currently a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Chef (or equivalent RPL) in Cert III Commercial Cookery
• Solid basic technique (knife skills, sauces, proteins) and growing speed/consistency under pressure
• Positive, reliable, coachable; communicates clearly and works well in a team
• Pride in presentation, cleanliness and safe work habits

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Proof you are enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd year (TAFE/RTO) or eligible for RPL into 2nd/3rd year
• Right to work in Australia; ability to meet event roster (nights/weekends/public holidays)
• Food Safety/Hygiene awareness

Desirable

• Previous banquets or high-volume event experience
• First Aid/WHS awareness

Training & Development

• Structured section rotations and mentoring with qualified Chefs
• Exposure to high end, venue catering and stadium event service
• Support for assessments and study release by agreement

About the Role…

We are currently seeking qualified and creative Kitchen Hands to join our casual BOH team for corporate and large-scale functions & events. Some of our exciting events are tailored around our clientele, and include corporate gala dinners for 3,000 guests, conferences, stadium corporate suites & functions.

Availability for certain busy periods or events will be an expectation of your employment and you will be expected to work weekdays, weekends and late nights according to roster.

About the Role…

Are you an experienced event professional who enjoys bringing plans to life and delivering high-quality event experiences?

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is seeking a highly organised and proactive Stadium Event Planner to support the planning and delivery of stadium-related events at Sydney Showground and ENGIE Stadium.

This role is responsible for planning and coordinating arrangements for assigned stadium events, working closely with clients, hirers, suppliers, contractors and internal departments to ensure events are delivered successfully and to a high standard. 

You will assist with preparing event schedules, event orders, operational documentation, brief sheets, event plans and post-event reports, while ensuring key event information is captured and communicated to relevant teams.

The role will also involve acting as a venue liaison for event-related requirements, supporting site inspections, assisting with pre and post event operational meetings, coordinating with stakeholders such as SOPA where required, and helping to resolve operational or client-related issues. 

In addition to event planning, you will support stadium operations, including venue inspections, event day requirements, safety briefings, contractor coordination, front of house functions, crowd management, staffing administration and WHS compliance. 

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, works well under pressure and is comfortable working event-driven hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

About you…

You are a confident and organised event professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced venue environment. You build strong relationships, communicate clearly and take pride in delivering events that meet client expectations and operational requirements.

You are proactive, adaptable and calm under pressure, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks, work with different teams and respond quickly to changing event needs. 

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualifications in Venue Management, Event Management or a related field
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven customer service skills
• An understanding of Workplace Health and Safety requirements
• An appreciation of diverse events and client needs
• Ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Ability to work productively in a high-pressure, event-driven environment
• Confidence using Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience using Momentus Event Business Management System, AutoCAD or Event Draw

Desirable:

• 3+ years’ industry experience
• Previous experience working on major events
• Previous experience in ushering and/or crowd management
• Responsible Service of Alcohol competency certificate
• Senior First Aid certificate
